The program committee of the Guild strives to present a variety of activities during the Guild Year. The speakers for the general meetings are chosen to represent different interests and techniques. And, each year we try to highlight the works of one of our guild members. At least one meeting a year emphasizes "hands on" block production. These blocks are then used to create quilt tops for community projects.
February 20 Hands on Meeting
We will be creating 12 1/2” slab blocks for CQA’s (Canadian Quilters’ Association) Canada’s Biggest Quilt Bee.
To celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday CQA wants you to be part of Canada’s biggest Quilt Bee!
The Big Quilt Bee will be held June 14-17, 2017 at Quilt Canada 2017 in Toronto, ON. We’ll have sewing machines, long arms, mid arms and an army of volunteers ready to work on quilt tops and stacks of slabs made by hundreds of Canadian quilters. But your help is needed! Their goal is to make and donate 1,000 quilts for kids at Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada!
We will be contributing to this initiative with the blocks and tops we make at the meeting.

Fabric for the slab blocks will come from the Community Projects Stash.
