The guild is open to anyone with an interest in quilts, whether a beginner, intermediate or advanced quilter, or as an enthusiastic onlooker. Membership dues are $45.00 per year or $9.00 per visitor.
Meeting Place and Time:
Orangeville Fairgrounds, on 5 Sideroad of Mono (Entry is at the main door.) On the third Monday of each month- September to June at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Call Judi Sullivan 519-941-1202, for more information. Bring your project for Show and Tell and your own cup; refreshments are no longer provided.
The program committee of the Guild strives to present a variety of activities during the Guild Year. The speakers for the general meetings are chosen to represent different interests and techniques. And, each year we try to highlight the works of one of our guild members. At least one meeting a year emphasizes "hands on" block production. These blocks are then used to create quilt tops for community projects.
Upcoming Meetings 2019-20
Sept 16 - Sharon Fisher
We’re kicking off our 25th Anniversary year with a fabulous quilter, Sharon Fisher. Sharon’s interests and talents have led her to specialize in wool applique and embellishments. She’s a regular instructor at Creekbank Sewing Machine shop in Conn, ON. Sharon’s work combines her love of colour and texture with traditional blocks embellished with wool and various types of yarns and threads. She has carved out a niche for herself as a teacher in the true traditional style of quilters sharing their skills and passion with other quilters. Sharon is available for a wool applique workshop November 23. Sign up at the meeting.
Oct 21 - Vernon Knorr
Vernon Knorr from Creekbank Sewing Machine Shop in Conn will talk to us about maintaining our machines, the big one - TENSION and needles. It promises to be a very informative evening!
