Raffle quilts are made to raise funds to support the Guild’s Community Projects and to promote quilting as an art form to the Community.
The Scrappy Spool block was chosen to make the Guild’s first Raffle Quilt. Members pieced the blocks and Leah Mitchell assembled the blocks and border. The quilt was quilted by Guild member Marilyn Lockhurst. The raffle was won by Nietz Faizon. Orangeville.

The Provincial Flowers pattern designed by Sandy Small Proudfoot was chosen as our second Raffle quilt. Members appliqued & embroidered the blocks and quilted the top. It was won by Trish Fedora, Brampton. The money raised helped support our first Quilt Show “The Magic of Cloth”, September 2001.
Members paper pieced the Attic Window blocks then arranged the blocks to form stars that extended into the border. The quilt was long arm quilted by Pix Martin from Elmira.

In the 2002-03 Guild year, President Anne Parsons challenged each member to make and donate a scrappy “Jewel Box” block using the cream background fabric provided, Anne assembled the top and it was quilted by Lisa Seinen. It was raffled Nov 17th 2003 and won by David White, Orangeville.
This beautiful Persian Sampler, designed by Sandy Small Proudfoot, was appliqued by the Guild members and hand quilted by Ellen Bryan, Grand Valley, Ontario. It was the raffle quilt for the 2004 Quilt Show T”he Magic of Cloth Act II” and was won by Debbie Wilber, Brampton.
The improved nine patch blocks were pieced by the Guild members. They were assembled and long arm quilted by May Light of Lightly Quilted. This “Canadian Beauty” was the 2007 Raffle Quilt for “The Magic of Cloth Act III-Star Gazing”. It was won by Jack Slater, Mono
Designed on EQ 6 by Mary Light. Guild members pieced the blocks, Mary assembled the blocks and quilted it on her long arm. The quilt, “Stormy Snails”, was the 2010 Quilt Show Raffle Quilt for “The Magic of Cloth Act IV ~ Sweet Sixteen”. It was won by Guild member Anne Parsons.
This Sampler quilt top was made by Joan Tipping and donated to the Guild. It was long armed quilted by Mary Light and used for the 2013 Quilt Show Raffle Quilt “The Magic of Cloth Act V ~ Five times a Charm”.

Raffle Quilt for the 2016 Quilt Show “The Magic of Cloth Act VI ~ Garden of Dreams”. The quilt featured Kona Bay panel and fabrics. Guild members pieced the sashing blocks, Pat Burbidge assembled the top and Mary Light did the long arm quilting. The raffle was won by Judith Veinot who had been our guest speaker(From Quilter to Artist) at the 2015 November meeting.
